BeYou (beyou.live), operated by Be You Live, LLC, is an adults-only (18+) platform. Access to any age-restricted area of the service requires that you first verify that you are at least eighteen (18) years old. This notice explains how that verification works, how we handle the information involved, and how access can vary depending on where you are located.
Who may use BeYou
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create an account or view age-restricted content. There are no exceptions. Attempting to access the service while under 18, or helping a minor do so, is prohibited and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
How we verify your age
Age verification is performed by VerifyMy, an independent third-party age-assurance provider, using a government-issued photo ID together with a live selfie check. This method satisfies the statutory verification standard adopted by U.S. states with age-verification laws, which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton (decided June 27, 2025).
We do not store your ID. VerifyMy processes and holds the verification documents under its own privacy program. BeYou receives only the result of the check — a pass/fail signal and the time it occurred. We do not receive, store, or retain your identity document or its images. This zero-retention posture is deliberate: in states that impose penalties for retaining verification data, the safest handling of that data is not to hold it at all.
U.S. state age-verification laws
A number of U.S. states have enacted laws requiring age verification before a user may access adult content. Where you are located in such a state, you will be asked to complete the verification described above before entering any age-restricted area. Some states additionally require that verification be re-confirmed periodically during use (for example, Tennessee and Ohio); in those states your verified session is re-confirmed on a recurring basis, and you may be asked to verify again to continue.
The specific list of states with age-verification laws changes over time as legislation is enacted, amended, or enjoined. We maintain our posture on a current basis and apply the requirements that are in effect for your location at the time you use the service.
Regional availability
Because legal requirements differ by jurisdiction, some regions may be temporarily unavailable while we implement or confirm the controls required there. If the service is not available in your region, you will receive a notice to that effect (an HTTP 451 “Unavailable For Legal Reasons” response) rather than access to age-restricted content. Availability can change as our compliance posture is updated. Outside the United States, we apply the age-assurance and access requirements of the applicable regime (for example, the UK Online Safety Act, France’s ARCOM framework, Germany’s KJM rules, and Australia’s eSafety codes) where those apply.
Circumvention
Using a VPN, proxy, false identification, or another person’s credentials to bypass age verification or regional restrictions is a violation of our Terms of Service and may be unlawful. Accounts found doing so may be suspended or terminated.
How your verification data is handled
For full detail on what we collect and retain, see our Privacy Policy. In short: the third-party provider handles your identity document; BeYou keeps only a verified yes/no result and the associated timestamps, and never the document itself.
Questions
Questions about age verification or regional access can be sent to support@beyou.live. Concerns about a minor accessing or appearing on the platform should be reported immediately through our report tool and our Child Safety policy.
